African Activist for Climate Justice - AACJ

The African Activists for Climate Justice (AACJ) Project unites five dynamic consortium partners African Youth Commission (AYC), The African Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET), OXFAM NOVIB, NATURAL JUSTICE, and PACJA each with strategic strengths in youth mobilization, women-led advocacy, resilient community building, amplifying African narratives, and locally driven adaptation initiatives. We passionately connect grassroots communities to regional and global processes, supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

THE PROJECT FIVE PATHWAYS TO DELIVER THE THEORY OF CHANGE

Under the Climate change and environment pillar AACJ helps AYC to reach out to the rest of the African youth within the continent and outside. The project has five result areas a namely;

Movement Building

Developing and sharing African Narratives.

Strengthening Human Rights framework

Strengthening Communities’ Adaptive capacities

Increase political will for Climate just policies

Each of the five partners have a thematic area that they offer leadership, AYC offers leadership and guidance for youth engagement and inclusion in the project. AYC ensures that in all the activities, initiatives, policies and project intervention are youth centric and that the youth and children interests are taken care of and not just being an afterthought but that they form part of the initial discussion.
