{"id":1769,"date":"2018-12-26T20:11:48","date_gmt":"2018-12-26T20:11:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/africanyouthcommission.org\/?p=1769"},"modified":"2018-12-26T20:11:48","modified_gmt":"2018-12-26T20:11:48","slug":"ayc-at-aga-2018-regional-youth-consultations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/africanyouthcommission.org\/new\/2018\/12\/26\/ayc-at-aga-2018-regional-youth-consultations\/","title":{"rendered":"AYC at AGA 2018 Regional Youth Consultations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AYC members participated in the 2018 Regional Youth Consultations\u00a0under the theme<strong>\u00a0&#8216;Leveraging Youth Capacities for the fight against corruption in Africa&#8217;<\/strong>. in\u00a0line with the\u00a0AU theme of the Year:\u00a0<strong>Winning the Fight Against Corruption: A sustainable path to Africa&#8217;s Transformation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Consultations were convened under the auspices of the African Governance Architecture\u00a0(AGA) Youth Engagement Strategy (AGA-YES). They focuses on leveraging and reinforcing\u00a0young people\u2019s insights, capacities, and initiatives for\u00a0preventing and fighting corruption in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>In line with the principle and spirit of the AGA Platform, the 2018 Regional Youth Consultations\u00a0were organised in close collaboration with the AU Advisory Board on Corruption as well as with\u00a0civil society partners.\u00a0In this vein, the consultations were held as follows:<\/p>\n<p>REGIONAL YOUTH CONSULTATIONS TIMELINES VENUE<br \/>\nSouthern Africa and East Africa: Gaborone\u00a0&#8211;\u00a015 \u2013 17 August 2018<br \/>\nWest Africa &amp; Central Africa: Dakar\u00a0&#8211;\u00a029 &#8211; 31August 2018<br \/>\nNorth Africa: Casablanca\u00a0&#8211;\u00a012 \u2013 14 September 2018<\/p>\n<p>The aim was to identify, support, strengthen and amplify youth perspectives on the sustainable fight\u00a0against corruption.
