The Forum took place at King Fahd Hotel in Dakar, Senegal, on 24 to 25 June 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/africanyouthcommission.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/dakr-trade-forum-high-table-600x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2247\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>By signing the African Continental Free Trade Area\n(AfCFTA),&nbsp;African leaders took a giant step\nforward for the development of the continent, signaling that the ideals in the\nAbuja Treaty on the African Economic Community will now be realized. The AfCFTA\nhas the potential to generate a range of benefits through supporting trade\ncreation, structural transformation, productive employment and poverty\nreduction. We are now on a clear path to the realization of these benefits with\nthe ratification by the required 22 signatories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/africanyouthcommission.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/001-600x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2248\" width=\"591\" height=\"591\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It is in this context that the forum is jointly organized and\nbrought together ministers and policy makers, private sector, civil society,\nacademia, international organizations and other influential stakeholders from across\nthe continent, to discuss what is required to ensure that the AfCFTA becomes a\nreality and truly contributes to Africa\u2019s socio-economic development.
